Position Summary

Sets up and operates machine shop equipment, to include manual Vertical Mills, Lathes, Drills, with CNC experience as well as programming CNC machines

Essential Responsibilities

Operate ALL equipment by following all safety rules to include Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE), machine guarding, hazard communications, etc.

Studies blue prints, sketches, drawings, or specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

Performs a wide range of turning, facing chamfering, cutting off and similar machining operations, on a variety of castings, parts, special orders, rework, re-machining, etc. of various materials.

Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.

Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, etc.

Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, depth and angle of cut.

Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.

Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.

Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings.

Keep work area clean and orderly.

Report all unusual conditions to supervisor.

Position Requirements

High School Diploma and 5 to 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and pull up to 50 pounds. The pull will vary depending on the operator preference, the part being run, and the machine. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Equal Pay Act Range

52,200.00 to 77,800.00 plus benefits and potential bonus
