Position Summary

Position: Purchasing Internship Summer 2024 (May - Aug)

 

Location: Seneca Falls, NY

 

Major: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) program in business management/administration, supply chain, operations management, finance or applicable degree as a junior or higher level

 

Academic Schedule: Summer 2024, full-time, 40 hours per week

 

About the Experience: Our ITT Goulds Pumps internship candidates have the unique opportunity to work for one of the most recognizable pump brands in the world. Under the general direction of ITT leadership, you will be maintain production schedules and troubleshoot delays. You will also get direct experience working with suppliers, buyers, planners and manufacturing personnel as required to meet and exceed ITT's operational goals.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support buyers in calling vendors for updates while maintaining open purchase orders for assigned vendors.
  • Troubleshoot delivery issues by phone / Teams meetings interfacing with vendors mainly.
  • Review production schedules, identify possible and actual shortages, and alert purchasing team of potential problems.
  • Update systems such as PRMS and Workbench.
  • Take appropriate action to expedite materials, by challenging vendors and proposing solutions.
  • Report on completion dates, material changes or substitutions, shortages, and schedule modifications timely.

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) program from four-year college or university in business management/administration, supply chain, operations management, finance or applicable degree as a junior or higher level
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
  • Proficient in MicroSoft Office Suite
  • Requires initiative, creativity and assertiveness, coupled with strong interpersonal, and negotiating skills
  • Teamwork and problem-solving skills
