Position Summary

As Sales Manager, the individual will support a well-established distribution network selling our core Industrial pressure and temperature switch products worldwide. The goal is to meet or exceed sales and booking goals through the development of new accounts and programs, expansion of existing accounts and direct penetration of competitive accounts.  The position will also serve as a technical resource on products.

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. Essential Responsibilities

  • Create new sales and marketing strategies that target customers and positions our products as the best solutions for prospective clients
  • Serves as technical engineering resource for the lines and supports the design efforts for customized products.
  • Manage customer relations by soliciting and logging client feedback and evaluating the data we receive through digital channels
  • Generate high-quality sales leads and follow up after initial meeting
  • Identify areas where we can improve customer satisfaction and repeat business, then communicate those issues and possible solutions to upper management
  • Set and achieve sales goals and quotas on a monthly / quarterly / annual basis
  • Effectively utilize MRP System as well as basic understanding of business software programs (Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.).
  • Develop and implement new sales initiatives, strategies and programs to capture key demographics
  • Effectively handles the assigned customers through consultative selling of products and deep knowledge of applications and customer process
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of competitive products and their activity in the marketplace and provide reports on a regular basis. Keeps management aware of changes that would affect the distribution of ITT products. Participates in the development and implementation of appropriate response strategies
  • Provides product training at the distributor and customer levels. Motivates and provides sales direction to the distributors. Assists in the conversion of competitive accounts to ITT

Position Requirements

  • Associates degree in Engineering or a related technical field with a combination of technical sales experience
  • 2-5 year’s experience in outside Sales environment or equivalent combination experience.
  • 2-5 year’s experience with Process Control products
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong time and project management skills and multi-tasking capability
  • Overnight travel (up to 35%) domestically and internationally as required, occasionally at short notice
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capability to work with ITT’s diverse and global employee base including the ability to motivate, energize, and enhance the performance of teammates
  • Customer focused attitude – the ability to be flexible and adaptive to support accounts in whatever ways may be required to bolster partnerships.
  • Proficient with customer relationship management (CRM) systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products

ITT offers a competitive salary and robust total rewards package, such as health insurance, 401(k), short and long-term disability, paid time off, growth and developmental opportunities, and other incentive compensation programs. Specific benefits are dependent upon whether or not the position is part of a collective-bargaining agreement. The salary offered to a candidate is based several factors such as candidate experience and qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations.

Equal Pay Act Range

$103,000 - $150,000
