Position Summary

The Parts Picker is responsible for picking all parts for all jobs in the EFT, Kitting, and AS50 areas. This position is critical in terms of keeping the process flow moving and the quality and integrity of the parts being delivered to the three work centers. The person performing this job must have a keen eye for detail and solid knowledge of BIW component part affiliation.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Process monitoring for flow interrupters and continuous improvement
  • Bag & label components as required
  • Understand and use Production Work Orders pick components and jobs onto shadow boards for kitting
  • Use Production Work Orders pick components into jobs for Feed Thru Assembly
  • Use Production Work Orders pick components into jobs for Subcomponent assembly
  • Properly mark required P/N and Serial Number onto parts prior to moving jobs to work centers
  • Administer Filling Production Work Orders per schedule provided by Planning
  • Execute cycle counting and preform any adjustments as required per the Cycle counting document A490-0024
  • Responsible for TO and MIGO confirmation integrity
  • Serial number verification - look up and document on part & Production Work Order
  • Batch segregation and integrity

Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Initiatives
  • Effectively communicate skills
  • Solid understanding of cycle counting
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP System
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Lean manufacturing environment is desired
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Cycle counting and inventory control disciplines
  • 2-4 years of parts picking in high mix production environment a plus
