- Arm-Hand Steadiness- The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
- Manual Dexterity- The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- Control Precision- The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
- Finger Dexterity- The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
- Near Vision- The ability to see details at close range.
- Reaction Time- The ability to quickly respond (with the hand, finger, or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture), or to an error, when it appears.
- Ability to perceive and interpret information through the senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch at a level considered normal for a healthy adult. Must exhibit good balance.
- Maximum lifting requirement is 40 lbs.; any material of greater weight must be moved using machinery.
Working Conditions:
- Must wear required safety equipment such as safety shoes, safety glasses.
- Occasional outdoor exposure to hot, cold, and/or damp weather.
- Daily exposure to dusts, fumes, metal chips, and odors from an industrial environment.
Supervision:
This position does not supervise others.
During initial training, the incumbent will require close supervision, with supervisor contact several times per day. After demonstration of sustained full comprehension of work instructions, safety procedures, and general department knowledge, daily contact with supervision may reduce to once or twice per day.

Education Required: Equivalent to high school education; with shop training preferred.
Experience Required: 2+ years varied machine operation experience.
