Position Summary

ITT Aerospace Controls headquartered in Valencia, CA is a premier supplier of highly engineered components and integrated solutions for mechanical and environmental control systems for aerospace commercial and military applications.  Our wide array of products can be found on virtually every commercial and military airplane flying today including linear and rotary actuators, fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, and motor and solenoid operated valves, pumps, electro-mechanical switches, ice and freeze protection, noise control, hoses, and connectors, drain masts, air/surface heaters and composites.

 

The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for implementing best practices in material planning, inventory control, purchasing, warehousing, and driving a problem-solving culture. To be successful in this role, you will need a passion for process improvement, system optimization, and a healthy dissatisfaction for status quo. The ideal candidate is proactive, results oriented and experienced in lean tools and processes and a keen interest in developing people, processes, and systems.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Build processes to drive JIT material availability to ensure material supply meets production requirements with minimum stock levels, while optimizing cost.
  • Accountable for all material planning issues that arise, including over or under delivery and drive immediate actions to eliminate root causes.
  • Design, develop and implement flexible supply chain processes to provide material supply risk visibility, update safety stock levels, aid business efficiency, and drive process improvements
  • Maintain supplier performance objectives for quality, on-time delivery, lead-times, and cost including:
  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies to minimize inventory and lead-times
  • Drive material cost reductions annually through negotiations with suppliers and transitioning to lower cost vendors
  • Drive implementation of lean tools like daily Gemba management, Standard Work, kaizen’, problem solving, Heijunka, Poka-yoke, etc.
  • Ensure all purchasing processes, purchase orders and contracts are following internal and external requirements
  • Manage the sale and disposal of surplus equipment and inventory
  • Manage Small Business, ITAR and government compliance requirements and flow-downs with supply base
  • Oversight of the planning function with responsibilities for orchestrating all material & capacity planning activities to satisfy product forecasts, new product introductions, & aftermarket sales.
  • Warehouse and Inventory Management responsibilities include managing the daily metrics and processes of the warehouse. In particular, he/she will guarantee the accuracy of the WIP, Finish goods and Raw Material base on an appropriate cycle counts strategy.
  • Partner with the other Operations Leaders to provide the highest customer service (OTD and Quality), working efficiency, safety, and lowest cost.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or relevant discipline
  • 7+ years of experience managing complex supply chain operations, preferably in a low volume/high-mix business
  • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Enthusiastic and proactive approach
  • Strong leadership/people management and development experience
  • CPM/CPPM certification preferred but not required
  • Six Sigma/Black Belt-Green Belt and Kaizen experience preferred
  • Experience with lean concepts/tools such as VSM, JIT, Kanban, Daily Management, Heijunka, kaizen, etc.
  • Good written, oral and presentation skills(communication)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Good team player with passion, customer focus, a demonstrated sense of urgency to resolve conflicts as they arise, & the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Specific benefits are dependent upon whether or not the position is part of a collective-bargaining agreement. The salary offered to a candidate is based several factors such as candidate experience and qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations.

Equal Pay Act Range

Annual salary range is $119,200 to $178,000, plus benefits and incentive plans
