  • Motion Technologies: (Revenue of $1.4B; headcount of ~ 4,000; operates in 13 countries) manufactures brake components and specialized sealing solutions, shock absorbers and damping technologies primarily for the global automotive, truck and trailer, public bus and rail transportation markets. 
  • Industrial Process: (Revenue of $1.4B; headcount of ~3,400; operates in 30 countries) manufactures engineered fluid process equipment serving a diversified mix of customers in global industries such as chemical, energy, mining, and other industrial process markets and is a provider of plant optimization and efficiency solutions and aftermarket services and parts. 
  • Connect and Control Technologies: (Revenue of $0.8B; headcount of ~ 3,800; operates in 10 countries) manufactures harsh-environment connector solutions, critical energy absorption, flow control components, and composite materials for the aerospace and defense, general industrial, medical, and energy markets.

 

Position Summary

The role of the Senior Technical Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. With deep infrastructure experience and strong leadership capabilities, this individual is responsible for coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to successfully deliver projects. In addition to managing active projects, the Senior Technical Project Manager will be part of a team to lead the design and implementation of new portfolio and project management processes / methodologies for the IT organization - driving continuous improvement in delivery practices.

 

This person will be responsible for a portfolio of IT Infrastructure projects and will be expected to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to scope and define key initiatives, deeply understand intended outcomes and success criteria, create a holistic plan to achieve the intended business outcome(s), and lead/drive the effort in coordination with other corporate and value center IT teams.  Ultimately, this person will secure stakeholder alignment and ensure/lead the effective execution of all IT infrastructure projects, including the definition of scope, functional designs, technical designs, and project plans (along with all customary relevant artifacts). Lastly, this person will ensure that at the completion of the project scope, the intended business outcomes are measured and have been realized in an organized and accountable manner.

Essential Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead complex IT projects across core infrastructure domains, including Data Center, Hosting, Cloud, Network, End User Computing, Security, Mergers & Acquisitions, Applications, and related areas.
  • Manage projects from initiation through implementation, training, and operational handoff, ensuring delivery on schedule, within scope, and budget.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including resource acquisition (personnel, hardware, software), task sequencing, risk management, and contingency strategies.
  • Oversee project budgets, forecasts, and cost models, ensuring financial accountability and transparency.
  • Conduct regular status reviews and communicate project progress, challenges, and successes with stakeholders at all levels—from technical teams to senior leadership.

 

Technical & Strategic Collaboration

  • Apply technical knowledge and hands-on experience to guide infrastructure initiatives such as cloud migrations, network upgrades, data center expansions, and compliance certifications.
  • Collaborate with IT and business leaders to define project scope, goals, and success criteria
  • Translate potentially ambiguous or multi-faceted business requirements / goals into clear actionable insights for technical practitioners and leaders.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences, ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
  • Influence and drive outcomes in matrixed environments by engaging cross-functional teams, vendors, and external partners effectively.

 

Process & Methodology Development

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve project management methodologies, tools, and templates to standardize and optimize delivery.
  • Lead adoption of capacity and demand management practices, including intake prioritization, time tracking, and chargeback models.
  • Champion risk identification and mitigation processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Promote knowledge transfer and documentation to enable smooth operational transitions post-project completion.

 

Team & Vendor Management

  • Lead and motivate diverse, cross-functional project teams, including direct staff and contractors, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and conflict resolution to ensure team cohesion and accountability.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including contract and SOW oversight, ensuring alignment with project objectives and organizational standards.

 

Communication & Reporting

  • Facilitate communication and coordination across business units, IT departments, project sponsors, and external suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain an evergreen prioritized project portfolio for all active and on-deck projects
  • Develop and maintain consistent and repeatable project health status updates on a recurring, periodic basis for all projects.
  • Conduct project meetings, presentations, and reviews tailored to audience needs—from detailed technical discussions to executive briefings.
  • Execute post-project evaluations, capturing lessons learned and recommending improvements for future initiatives.

 

Agile and Waterfall Delivery

  • Operate effectively within both traditional Waterfall and Agile project management frameworks, tailoring approaches to project and organizational needs.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; or associate degree with 8 years of well-rounded, relevant experience Further education via an M.B.A. is considered a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager within IT infrastructure and operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading major infrastructure initiatives (e.g., cloud migrations, network upgrades, data center builds, technology implementations, compliance certifications, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures).
  • Strong working knowledge of project management tools such as MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Planner, and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience managing project budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
  • Experience developing a business case is desired but not required.
  • Experience with vendor management, including SOW development and contract execution.
  • Certification required—such as Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PRINCE2 Practitioner, Program Management Professional (PgMP), or Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP).
  • Available for escalations and able to work non-standard hours as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high team morale and foster collaboration across project teams.
  • Willingness to participate in special projects as assigned, with varying levels of involvement.

Specific benefits are dependent upon whether or not the position is part of a collective-bargaining agreement. The salary offered to a candidate is based several factors such as candidate experience and qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations.

Equal Pay Act Range

$119,300 - $178,900 annually
