Position Summary

ITT’s SAP Center of Excellence (CoE) is driving a global initiative to modernize and expand its SAP ECC 6.0 footprint, with future migration plans to S/4HANA. As part of this transformation, we are seeking a Junior SAP ABAP Developer to join our team and contribute to the development, support, and enhancement of SAP solutions across multiple business areas.

 

This role is ideal for someone with foundational SAP ABAP experience who is eager to grow in a collaborative, global environment. You will work alongside experienced developers and functional analysts, gaining exposure to full-cycle SAP implementations, technical design, and cross-functional business processes.

Essential Responsibilities

Technical Development & Support

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance SAP ABAP programs including reports, forms, interfaces, and custom enhancements.
  • Assist in the creation of technical solutions using tools such as ALV, SmartForms, SAP Scripts, BDC, LSMW, BAPI, and BADI.
  • Support the implementation of modular programming techniques including function modules, RFCs, and class-based development.
  • Participate in debugging and performance tuning of ABAP programs using SAP-provided methodologies.

Project Participation

  • Contribute to SAP implementation and rollout projects across various modules (FI/CO, SD, MM, WM, QM, PP).
  • Assist in the evaluation of business needs and provide technical recommendations aligned with SAP best practices.
  • Support the SAP CoE in project planning, risk assessment, and execution of development tasks.

Testing & Documentation

  • Prepare and execute unit and integration tests to validate development outcomes.
  • Document technical specifications, test plans, and development logs in alignment with internal standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of ABAP and Fiori developments for future reference and audits.

 Collaboration & Communication

  • Work collaboratively with SAP Functional Analysts, business stakeholders, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Communicate effectively across teams and geographies to ensure alignment and timely delivery of tasks.
  • Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Continuous Improvement & Learning

  • Stay informed about SAP technologies including Suite on HANA, S/4HANA, Fiori/UI5, and Adobe Forms.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency within SAP development processes.
  • Support the establishment and refinement of development standards and best practices across the SAP CoE.

Operational Support

  • Analyze and resolve break/fix issues in collaboration with SAP Systems Analysts and end users.
  • Provide accurate and timely estimates for development tasks based on functional specifications.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.

Position Requirements

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • SAP ABAP certification is a plus.

Experience

  • 1+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.
  • Exposure to at least one full-cycle SAP implementation is preferred.
  • Experience in one or more SAP modules (FI/CO, SD, MM, WM, QM, PP) is highly desirable.

 

Technical Skills

  • Basic proficiency in ABAP Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
  • Familiarity with SAP enhancement techniques (User Exits, Customer Exits, BADIs).
  • Understanding of SAP integration tools and interface development.
  • Experience with debugging, performance tuning, and runtime error analysis.
  • Exposure to Fiori/UI5, Adobe Forms, and SAP HANA is a plus.
