  • Motion Technologies: (Revenue of $1.4B; headcount of ~ 4,000; operates in 13 countries) manufactures brake components and specialized sealing solutions, shock absorbers and damping technologies primarily for the global automotive, truck and trailer, public bus and rail transportation markets. 
  • Industrial Process: (Revenue of $1.4B; headcount of ~3,400; operates in 30 countries) manufactures engineered fluid process equipment serving a diversified mix of customers in global industries such as chemical, energy, mining, and other industrial process markets and is a provider of plant optimization and efficiency solutions and aftermarket services and parts. 
  • Connect and Control Technologies: (Revenue of $0.8B; headcount of ~ 3,800; operates in 10 countries) manufactures harsh-environment connector solutions, critical energy absorption, flow control components, and composite materials for the aerospace and defense, general industrial, medical, and energy markets.

 

Position Summary

The Data Center Hosting Services Administrator II plays a key role in ensuring the operational health, reliability, and performance of ITT’s global hosting infrastructure. Under the direction of the Supervisor, Hosting Services Operations, this role is responsible for the administration & support of data center services related to systems, storage and core data center services across ITT’s global landscape of 1500+ servers, both on-premises and cloud.

 

As part of a high-performing global team, this individual supports the hardware, software, monitoring tools, and service processes that host, store and process ITT’s applications and data for shared applications/services and local applications/services that service one or more of our 125+ global locations. This includes the full lifecycle, including but not limited to proactive maintenance, issue resolution, infrastructure upgrades, patching, firmware upgrades, monitoring/alerting services, and comprehensive documentation. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, security, and business-aligned IT stakeholders.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Executes the team’s objectives for corporate, regional, and cloud hosting environments.
  • Administers Wintel platforms and maintains required configurations.
  • Provides technical support for the Wintel environments globally, ensuring maximum uptime and availability.
  • Implements the change, upgrade, or removal of current hardware or software systems.
  • Works with appropriate business partners to implement new hardware or software as required.
  • Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, and makes recommendations.
  • Ensures security standards are being met, and takes appropriate steps when deficiencies are uncovered.
  • Participates in disaster recovery testing.
  • Remediates incident and service requests.
  • Drafts operational documentation as requested.
  • Provide support for the following applications & hardware globally:
    • Microsoft SCCM for patching and server inventory
    • Virtualization infrastructure support through SCVMM and vCenter
    • Storage: HPE 3PAR, HPE Alletra, Dell Compellent, NetApp
    • Hardware: HPE\Dell blades and chassis, Dell\HPE servers
    • Support global backup process and remediation.
  • Expectations of the role include but are not limited to:
    • Manage enterprise grade storage systems and infrastructure.
    • Manage enterprise grade hosting solutions.
    • Manage hypervisor platforms (compute and storage).
    • Maintain continuous availability of the environment and contribute to improvement practices.
    • Perform infrastructure troubleshooting, resolve issues, and document solutions.
    • Make configuration changes to keep the infrastructure secure and reliable.
    • Develop automation for routine processes.
    • Participate in data protection discussions, provide input and make recommendations on solutions to support the enterprise environment.
    • Patching and upgrading of operating systems and firmware; addressing non-compliance as needed.
    • Be a team player and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by department leadership.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation along with your team.
  • Due to time zone difference and appropriate meeting times, flexible work hours may be required.

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
  • Travel less than 10% may be required for special projects.

Position Requirements

  • College Degree in computer science, information sciences or related field and 3-5 years of experience; OR 5+ years relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware & operating systems (Windows & Linux Server).
  • Strong knowledge in enterprise backup disk-based solutions (e.g., Azure Backup, CommVault, Veeam).
  • Knowledge of industry standard maintenance practices and monitoring tools is required, SolarWinds preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure IaaS, PaaS and related services (e.g. Azure Arc)
  • Working knowledge of Windows Active Directory.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise grade virtualization.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft SCVMM and SCCM.
  • Working knowledge in enterprise storage solutions.
  • Working knowledge with PowerShell, Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.
  • Experience with AS/400 (iSeries) is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage IT solutions to solve business challenges.
  • Experience in environments with outsourced or hybrid service models is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of data center operations including power, cooling, fire suppression, and environmental monitoring systems is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with data center management tasks such as racking & stacking, cabling, and physical hardware installation/configuration is a plus.

Specific benefits are dependent upon whether or not the position is part of a collective-bargaining agreement. The salary offered to a candidate is based several factors such as candidate experience and qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations.

Equal Pay Act Range

Annual Salary Range $75,600 to $113,200 Plus Benefits and Incentive Plans.
