Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Quality, this leader must have the ability to effectively communicate up and down the organization across all functional areas, The Quality Control Supervisor is a hands-on role responsible for leading the Quality Inspection team within a dynamic aerospace design and manufacturing facility. This position will have functional leadership of Receiving Inspection, Final Inspection, Calibration and Material Review Board. This individual will champion continuous improvement activities with quantitative results that consistently deliver cost control, cost reduction, throughput efficiency and defect free products on-time. 

There is a high degree of collaborating with product management, engineering, operations and suppliers to establish and maintain requirements for raw materials, components, manufacturing processes, and finished goods.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct the day-to-day activities of employees in Receiving Inspection, Final Inspection and Calibration areas
  • Develop, administer and maintain quality assurance procedures and activities required to ensure that the company’s processes and products are in compliance with applicable quality standards, regulatory, and Customer requirements
  • Establish and maintain effective Quality Inspection and Calibration teams in compliance with national and international regulations, standards as well as Internal and Customer requirements
  • Manage customer and DCMA sourcing activities
  • Oversee of AS9102 FAIR requirements
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities (Kaizen and Lean Events)
  • Manage the selection & development of staff & resources to perform the functions of the department
  • Lead Quality Improvement initiatives
  • Review and approve inspection plans. 
  • Provide leadership to Inspection Team
  • Manage the development and maintenance of the gage calibration system
  • Participate in MRB activities
  • Support product transfers from other plants/facilities
  • Monitor throughput of inspection staff and organize appropriate support to ensure timeliness

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, communication, and coaching to employees while cultivating a high-performance culture of motivated employees, environment of trust, customer service, teamwork, accountability, self-confidence, and business ownership.
  • Conduct the Performance Management Process with direct reports for effectiveness, timeliness, and expected outcomes in focusing, aligning, and engaging employees in the pursuit of the overall business strategies and goals.
  • Support the acquisition and management of talent by
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees;
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work;
  • Appraising performance; and
  • Addressing employee complaints and resolving issues.
  • Promote adherence to the company's Code of Conduct and Policies (including safety protocols).

Position Requirements

  • 3+ years manufacturing supervisory experience in a continuous flow aerospace manufacturing environment to include application of LEAN manufacturing principles
  • 5+ years in inspection environment and/or demonstrated knowledge of inspection processes
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • This position requires visibility to projects that are Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN), including foreign governments, organizations or non-U.S. citizens. This position requires a US Citizen.
  • Demonstrated advanced specialist knowledge with ASME/ANSI Y14.5M GD&T
  • Knowledge of Measurement Systems Analysis theory and tools
  • Knowledge of Advanced and Standard Metrology methods, ie. CMM
  • Proficiency in drawing/blueprint dimensional and view standards
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ­share/communicate ideas & solutions across cross-functional teams
  • Hands-on, action oriented, no-nonsense problem solver with a keen eye on process improvement and bottom line
  • Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001 requirements and standards.
  • The ability to develop partnerships and influence.
  • An understanding of the principles of configuration management and document control.
  • Demonstrated project and people management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and interact effectively with management from other functions.
  • Travel requirement: up to 10% (domestic and international)

The salary offered to a candidate is based several factors such as candidate experience and qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations.

Equal Pay Act Range

Annual salary range is from $93,800.00 to $140,000.00, plus benefits & incentive plans.
