ITT Aerospace Controls is an FAA Certified Part 21 Production Approval Holder and an FAA Certified Part 145 Repair Station. We are dedicated in supporting the aftermarket repair and overhaul of the valves, actuators, pumps, and switches we manufacture. With a large client base of OEMs and airlines, our products help control a broad variety of commercial and military aircraft.
We are looking a Service Technician I with prior experience in performing repairs and overhauls on aircraft accessories. Duties will include disassembly, inspection, repair, and assembly (overhaul) of electronic components (soldering, adhesive bonding, wrapping, packaging, etc.), actuators, pumps, valves, and switches. Applicants must have experience interpreting part drawings, electrical schematics, and other instructions for continued airworthiness. Extensive training will be provided; therefore, the desire to learn new systems and skills is a must.
• Interpret Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM’s), assembly blueprints, drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications.
• Use a variety of hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and ESD equipment to ensure conformance to drawings and specifications.
• Build, test, and repair/overhaul a variety of aircraft components and sub-assemblies.
• Cleans, assembles, disassembles, and replaces parts as required.
• Records time on labor sheets for each process of repaired
• Inspects all parts for cleanliness and flaws.
• Sends repaired products to test or to quality assurance final inspection.
These Essential Responsibilities are the primary functions of the position; however, since ITT’s product line is installed on such a vast number of aircraft across multiple applications, Technicians must have the ability and desire to apply their skills whenever and in whatever capacity a new market opportunity requires. This might include such tasks as conformity teardown inspections and product specific verification testing.
• Must be willing to work overtime including some Saturday mornings.
• 1-2 years electro-mechanical accessory experience; however, new Aircraft & Powerplant graduates will be considered.
• Must be able to pass DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol test (marijuana usage is NOT permitted).
• Experience working in a repair and overhaul environment.
• Read and interpret CMM’s, part drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• High School diploma, GED, trade school certification or experience equivalent.
• Computer literate. This position requires basic working knowledge of Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.)
• Must have working knowledge of basic shop math and be able to complete basic electrical formulas.
• Must be able to use a variety of assembly hand tools and precision measuring instruments accurately and efficiently, such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
Preference to applicants with:
• Prior experience working in a fast-paced FAA Part 145 Repair Station environment.
• A working knowledge of Part 145 Regulations.
• Experience using MRP computer systems.
• Airframe & Power Plant Certificate.
