The Quality Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the consistent delivery of high-precision RF connectors by driving product and process quality across the organization. This position leverages data analytics, structured problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration to uphold rigorous quality standards, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction at our El Cajon facility. The Quality Engineer holds Material Review Board (MRB) authority and is instrumental in maintaining compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR, NADCAP, and customer-specific requirements.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical professional with a strong foundation in quality systems, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-reliability manufacturing environment and demonstrate a proactive approach to resolving quality issues and driving operational excellence.
Lead structured investigations into internal and external quality issues using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Develop and implement robust Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurrence and improve product reliability.
Analyze inspection, test, and process data to identify trends, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and support strategic decision-making. Utilize statistical tools (e.g., SPC, Pareto analysis) to drive process improvements and reduce variation.
Exercise MRB authority to evaluate and disposition non-conforming materials. Coordinate rework, repair, or scrap activities in collaboration with engineering and production teams, ensuring traceability and compliance.
Compile and prepare comprehensive quality documentation packages for customer review, including FAI reports, inspection records, certificates of conformance, and traceability documentation. Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely delivery of all required quality data.
Partner with design, manufacturing, and procurement teams to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM), process capability, and adherence to quality standards throughout the product lifecycle.
Prepare for and participate in internal, customer, and third-party audits. Ensure timely closure of audit findings and maintain documentation to support compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR, NADCAP, and other applicable standards.
Serve as a key point of contact for quality-related communications with customers and suppliers. Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), coordinate corrective actions, and support quality agreements and flow-down requirements.
