  • Connect and Control Technologies: (Revenue of $0.8B; headcount of ~ 3,800; operates in 10 countries) manufactures harsh-environment connector solutions, critical energy absorption, flow control components, and composite materials for the aerospace and defense, general industrial, medical, and energy markets.

 

Position Summary

As an integral, strategic long-term partner within ITT’s Athens office, the IT Project Manager will be instrumental in planning, organizing, and integrating cross-functional Data Analytics & AI projects that are significant in scope and impact. You will coordinate the work of other data professionals and administrative staff to produce a new piece or system of software. As a seasoned IT Project manager, you are expected to provide leadership, guidance and facilitation for people, projects, program solution design and priorities supporting ITT’s Data Analytics & AI team. As we move into our next phase of data consolidation and expansion of our services across ITT worldwide, we seek an individual who can drive initiatives and programs related to the continued build of our global shared service model through managing products priorities, business relationships and business processes.  

 

You guide projects on their overall high level solution approach, engagement with the broader project team, and articulate the project artifacts to business stakeholders. You take full responsibility to follow through on commitments and show strong follow through and accountability. You feel confident to represent ITT in meetings within the scope of responsibilities. You know how to speak the right language to the right audience. You will use your accumulated knowledge to author cross-discipline project reports. You will be preemptive and ensure a clear, crisp list of actions is produced. You enjoy having IT quality and overall excellence at the core of every activity you carry out.

 

You set the right expectations and coordinate with stakeholders. You manage multiple projects at a time. You will assemble a detailed plan where you can track the team's progress during project development. You will act as a team leader and will motivate your coworkers to put in the hard work and finish the project successfully.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Data Analytics & AI Manager, the right incumbent will monitor multiple data projects’ progress and set realistic deadlines.
  • Solves issues as they arise and ensure that the development teams can work unhindered towards the project completion.
  • Maintains organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for estimating task times.
  • Works with the rest of the organization to establish, maintain and modify completion dates based on backlog, maintenance and staff leave.
  • Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data center.
  • Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
  • Assumes responsibility for monitoring actual time spent on IT tasks as compared to initial estimates, insuring project completion dates are met.
  • Ensures adherence to the project management and application development methodologies, standards, and procedures.
  • Assumes responsibility for establishing a project assurance and review group/process to ensure quality assurance of projects.
  • Contacts internal and external customers to define and solve issues presented to the IT teams.
  • Advises and consults with program areas on the progress, design and efficiency options around systems and programs implementation and development.
  • Prepares relevant project management statistics and reports on an as needed basis.
  • Manages the IT aspects of assigned emerging project initiatives.
  • Maintains project dashboards and provides weekly updates; identifies and remediates problems and bottlenecks timely and effectively.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Position Requirements

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer or Information Science-related field required; M.Sc. degree preferred.

 Experience/Skills/Knowledge:

  • 3-5 years of experience in an IT Project Management role ideally in Data related projects
  • Organized with attention to detail
  • Thorough understanding of project management principles and planning
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Operate in a customer-focused consulting approach – advanced project management skills, prioritization of work and ability to relate to the business partners and articulate technical details
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to motivate groups of people to complete a project in a timely manner
  • Assembling and coordinating project team members; assigning individual responsibilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff
  • Thorough understanding of information technology procedures and practices
  • Strong requirements gathering experience. Ability to work with business users and clients
  • Proficient with, or able to quickly become proficient with, a range of general and specialized applications, software, and hardware used in the organization and the industry
  • Experience in Microsoft technologies
  • Basic experience with database design and theory
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Solid documentation skills 
  • Additional skills:
  • Basic understanding of core data frameworks, processes and services like data engineering, visualization, AI/ML
  • Software Development Life Cycle experience is a plus
