Position Summary

The Product Manager will be responsible for the profitable growth of all assigned product lines and/or business portfolios. The individual will define and implement new product introduction (NPI) strategies, provide technical application assistance and product support to sales staff. The Product Manager will coordinate pricing and product rationalization activities, champion new products through ITT Value Based Product Development (VBPD) and perform product portfolio analysis through the Value Based Management (VBM) process. This position will facilitate communication between operations, engineering, sales and customer service as a primary customer interface and advocate to develop, communicate, and deploy Product Roadmaps.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for assigned Product Management area, to include product planning and strategies.
  • Manage portfolio and product roadmaps for assigned product group.
  • Recommend, investigate, and document new product opportunities.
  • Coordinate with SIOP Manager/Process in adjudicating and prioritizing demand and Engineering leadership to ensure resource supply is adequate to meet supply plan.
  • Champion new products through the product development process, including opportunity prioritization, completion of activities and ensuring new product introductions occur per schedule.
  • Conduct, coordinate and manage product launches, including support of Marketing Communications materials.
  • Maintains direct contact with key customers, distributors, and agents worldwide via an active travel agenda and participate in industry trade shows.
  • Develop and maintain key business contacts within the industry.
  • Assist with the development of technology roadmaps for the company and assist Engineering and Sales in converting these roadmaps into new concepts and product offerings.
  • Individual will develop and execute strategies to drive growth, retention and profitability and optimize market penetration.
  • Will proactively seek, identify, and recommend potential teaming and acquisition targets, in conjunction with the leadership team.
  • Remains cognizant of all pertinent competitive activities worldwide, including technical developments and market share data and perform competitive and market attractiveness analysis.
  • Organizes and manages sound proposal preparation, pricing establishment and quotation activities.
  • Margin analysis, cost reduction, continuous improvement, customer management of production book of business within assigned product line or business unit
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly reports detailing the status of accounts, applications, and revenue growth figures.
  • Assists with advertising and sales promotion programs.
  • Assists with Aerospace Controls participation in trade shows and other industry activities.

Position Requirements

  • Business Management or Engineering degree with 5+ years of progressive experience in technical sales, proposal, or business development, preferably in the aerospace manufacturing industry.
  • Excellent communication skills combined with strong presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT).
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) planning and implementation.
  • Budgeting, scheduling, and determining priorities based on needs of the business and customer.
  • Proven ability to understand customer requests, assess and identify product opportunities to meet customer needs.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Lean experience is a plus.
  • Shop floor and manufacturing experience is a plus.

Specific benefits are dependent upon whether or not the position is part of a collective-bargaining agreement. The salary offered to a candidate is based several factors such as candidate experience and qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations.

Equal Pay Act Range

Annual Salary range is $106,300 to $158,700 plus benefits and incentive plans
