Position Summary

Supervises and directs day-to-day valve assembly and test activities for approximately 25 employees. 

Essential Responsibilities

Responsible for the assignment of work, understanding of test requirements, understanding of capacity constraints on valve test stands of various media types, and working closely with scheduling to ensure orders are completed and shipped on time.  
This position requires the management of manpower, tools and equipment coverage. 
Interprets blueprints, specifications and engineering orders to clarify and resolve functional problems related to assembly. 
Assures the maintenance of quality standards and participates in departmental meetings for purposes of improving methods, standardizing techniques and otherwise affecting cost reductions and increasing efficiency. 
He/she must be able to coordinate with other supervisors or departments for continuity of effort and functionality.   
Must be able to foster a positive work environment and build a team that is fully committed to continuous improvement. 
Oversee scheduling and routine production activities as well as acting as the first line of support for troubleshooting should problems arise.
Collects data and compiles reports about production.
Ensures production team has access to all relevant raw materials and equipment – ensure the smooth running of production.
Ensuring production downtime is kept to a minimum.

Position Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or related educational background
6 + years manufacturing supervisory experience in a continuous flow aerospace manufacturing environment to include application of LEAN manufacturing principles.   
Solid communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively guide teams and foster collaboration across departments.
Experience MUST include positive employee relations and team building, comprehensive technical management skills. 
Solutions-oriented and contributes to continuous improvement for processes.
Proficiency in personal computer software is important and prior experience in an MRP manufacturing environment is highly desirable. 
Proficiency in using Excel and other Microsoft software.
Experience fostering an environment of Safety and Quality while supporting the production needs of the business.
 
Preferred Requirements:
 
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
Experience in a high mix/ low volume environment for customer orders.

The salary offered to a candidate is based several factors such as candidate experience and qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations.

Equal Pay Act Range

Min. $107,400.00 to Max. $160,200.00
